I loved the cozy, magical atmosphere and the themes of sisterhood, overcoming trauma, and making your own way in the world. That being said, there were a few elements of the plot/writing style that felt a little dated and slightly cringe-inducing. A few moments also read as rushed or tacked on in a way that wasn’t cohesive with the rest of the narrative and certainly could’ve been fleshed out more. It wasn’t always easy to look past those ‘flaws’, but this still gets a solid 3-star from me as I genuinely cared about the main characters and the book overall felt like a warm, if awkwardly executed, hug.
