Really enjoyed this book! I was a little leery when I first started - my experience with a lot of other YA fantasy is too heavy handed a focus on the romance, or the interaction between characters too saccharine, but I was happy overall with this portrayal. A few eye-roll worthy interactions, but while the "forbidden" romance was a big part of the book, I feel like it was handled well, without too much unnecessary drama. Great character/worldbuilding. Already started on the second!
