This story felt like a more explicitly Cinderella-inspired rewrite of "This Is What Happy Looks Like" by Jennifer E. Smith - nerdy teenage guy who's famous from doing movies but craves normal connection accidentally makes virtual contact with a "regular" teenage girl who doesn't know that he's famous, and sparks ensue. The pumpkin aspect of the Cinderella retelling was a fun twist. Overall, though, the character interactions felt somewhat convenient or repetitive at times. I enjoyed the experience overall, but I was rarely, if ever, surprised by what happened.
