Ollie is my new favorite book boyfriend. I’m gonna put him around a table with all the other book boyfriends who fell in love first, silently (or not), and who are waiting and longing to reveal and share that love in the open.

I was eager but also scared to discover Nina and Ollie's story. First because I loved Nina's character in Love, Lists and Fancy Ships, and then because I loved the first book so much that I didn't think it was possible to enjoy the 2nd book as much.

In the end, I even liked this book mire than the first one! Sarah G. Ruiz's writing and storytelling is so special. For book 1, I felt like I wasn't reading a romance, but rather a story of family and healing. For this 2nd volume, I read an anti-romance, because the author takes all the codes and clichés and turns backwards before throwing them into our faces, taking us on a whirlwind of surprises, on a trip whose destination we know, but whose journey surprises us with each chapter.

I will follow Sarah very closely now!

Ollie est mon nouveau petit-ami livresque préféré. Je le mets autour d’une table avec tous les autres petits-amis livresques qui sont tombés amoureux en premier, en silence (ou non), et qui patientent et s’impatientent de pouvoir révéler et partager cet amour au grand jour.

J’avais hâte mais aussi peur de découvrir l’histoire de Nina et d’Ollie. Déjà parce que j’ai adoré le personnage de Nina dans Love, Lists and Fancy Ships, et ensuite parce que j’ai tellement aimé ce premier tome autour de Jo & Alex je ne pensais pas possible d’autant apprécier le 2ème livre.

Finalement, j’ai même préféré ce tome que le 1er! La plume et la façon de raconter une histoire de Sarah G. Ruiz est tellement particulière. Pour le time 1, j’ai eu l’impression de ne pas lire une romance,mais plutôt une histoire de famille et de guérison. Pour ce 2eme tome, j’ai lu une anti-romance, car l’auteure prend tous les codes et les clichés et nous les renverse, nous emmène dans un tourbillon de surprises, dans un voyage dont on connaît la destination, mais dont le voyage nous surprend à chaque chapitre.

Je vais suivre Sarah de très près maintenant!
