This indie published book was translated into English by the author. I think this is spectacular. I honestly had no idea until I read other reviews.
What is it about? This is a fantasy novel taking place in an alternate world. While there is hints of romance, it isn’t a book for those looking for a spicy read. It reminded me of Sarah J Mass and Holly Black’s fantasy worlds. While I believe it is an adult book it would be great for this who also enjoy ya.
What I enjoyed! The characters were very well thought out. The visual of the world were well describe. The premise of a destiny thief is amazing. I really enjoyed that aspect. The fairies were my favorite species, but I did enjoy seeing how they all interacted.
I do think that the logic of the world could have been more refined. The distance and time didn’t seem to be consistent and it threw me out of the story a few times. Also, just a tightening of the plot. It kind of read like it was made up as it was going along. Which was a shame because it was such a great premise. However, I tend to be more logical and others may appreciate this approach more.
Should you read it? Absolutely! Especially if you enjoy young adult fantasy.
