Icebreaker
by A.L. Graziadei
That was everything I needed and MORE compared to that gay hockey romance monstrosity I read earlier in February. Anti toxic masculinity, LGBTQ positive, anti racism, it’s checking all the boxes. This is easily going to be a favourite of 2022.
ICEBREAKER is definitely a book that anyone can read. You don’t understand hockey? No problem, the author explains everything in clear terms, and if there is any use of hockey-lingo, it is described.
Rep included (I may also have forgotten something, this book is full of diverse characters!):
- bi MC
- black queer love interest (I forget the label Jaysen uses, apologies)
- f/f side couple (MCs sister and her girlfriend are lesbian, and the girlfriend is black)
- poly throuple (MCs sister and 2 bi guys)
- depression
- anxiety
- trichotillomania
(edit: sorry, autocorrect decided that the name jaysen is actually jayden)
