I have been looking forward to Asher’s story and was not disappointed.

What you see is not what you get with Asher. Circumstances lead Kole to being the Equipment Manager for the team. Kole, who dislikes hockey, no longer plays hockey but his Dad is the Hockey Coach, who is able to see the real Asher from the very start.

Asher comes across as an angry, closed off, fighting the world, self destructive jock when in reality he is really hurting and hasn’t come to terms with the grief of losing his father and stepmother. Kole is his safe place where he can be the sweet and kind man he is and not think about the person he should be. Kole encourages him to embrace who he is and as a result not only them but the hockey team benefit.

Along the way to their HEA is witty banter, sizzling chemistry, lots of steam, and lots of siblings requiring attention. Not to mention those away games where sharing a room gives them lots of time together.

This is a well crafted book and I loved the development of Asher’s character. It is a low angst, enjoyable and engaging read that left me smiling and feeling happy. The tiny glimpse of the next in the series leaves me waiting for more.
