The Almost Wives Club by Nancy Warren
3.0

This was an enjoyable quick read. Predictable? Yeah. A bit corny? Yeah. I did find Ted to be a flat character all around. Kate wasn't much better at first but at least she grew at the end of the book Ted was still the spoiled scared little rich boy he had always been. Maybe he develops later on in the series if he is mentioned since I know that his cousin is the focus of a later book. Her mother was deplorable and completely unsympathetic and Ted's parents seemed like background characters with there being no reason for them there aside from a warning of what Ted and Kate may be years from now if they married. Of course there is a happily ever after which is always the case with these.

The one thing I found annoying is that Kate was bit contradictory at times. In the span of a few paragraphs she went from thinking she wasn't going to sleep with Nick to doing so. To the point I had to go back and re-read it to make sure I didn't overlook something. So that threw me for a bit and then she was really like that for the rest of the book (flip-flopping). But she did finally wise up at the end and stay on solid ground so that was enjoyable.

I would recommend this for a quick weekend read either on the beach or curled up next to the fire since it is quick, easy, and a nice way to pass the time.
