This book is very important. I am sure there will be parents who think middle graders are too young to be reading about this stuff but the book does a very good job of handling the situation in a way that isn't over the top but also makes it clear that unwanted sexual behavior is not alright. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, which is why this is only a 4.5. I understand why the author did it and I think that it's important to show changed behavior but I personally would have liked a slightly altered ending. Still, I think this is a vital book for young people of every gender. It's not a perfect book but it's a really good start.
