The first part of this book is fun. Super dialog heavy with zero atmosphere but that works because you already know the star trek universe. You can fill in the blanks with all the star trek you've watched. It's not perfect but it was fun to read.
Then the author decides that he doesn't want to end the story when he should. Like he was going for word count. Or just wanted space to work through his writers block in an almost yet not quite meta way. He could of just went back and added more details or scenes or character development. Added to the actual story. Instead he adds a few creative writing journal entries.
I would recommend just not reading past chapter 24. The rest is self indulgent dribble.
