The Fate of the Tearling
by Erika Johansen
“These people are so damned proud of their hatred! Hatred is easy, and lazy to boot. It’s love that demands effort, love that exacts a price from each of us. Love costs; this is its value.”
The Fate of the Tearling is the final book following Kelssa Glynn's progression into a powerful manarch. In her quest to get rid of corruption, she had gained many formidable enemies, including the Red Queen and 'The Orphan'. In order to protect her people, Kelsea makes the decision to surrender herself and her 2 magical sapphires to the Red Queen. The Mace, her most trusted guard, is placed Regent in her stead. But The Mace's utmost loyalty has always lied with Queen, and sitting on a throne whilst his Queen is held captive is something he simply won't put up with. He will not rest until he and his men rescue their sovereign from her prison in Mortmesne.
I AM STILL REELING OVER THIS BOOK! Those of you who know me, are aware that I am simply in love with this trilogy. I think this was the perfect wrap up to a brilliant series. Honestly, I'm still gushing. Bare with me.
