A villain of the story outs a trans kid, deadnames him, and forces him to wear a dress. It is written like a plot twist (although there is a hint earlier in the text), so it could be both shocking and triggering to trans individuals. The kid does have a very supportive mother, and is otherwise accepted for who he is, but if you're particularly sensitive to outing as a twist - avoid this book. I will say, as a trans nonbinary person, I wasn't triggered by it personally (in this instance), I think because I saw it coming and because the character was otherwise treated with dignity/respect/fondness. I mostly just didn't understand why it was happening. The character being trans made sense, but there could have been more subtle ways to make it clear that he was a trans boy.
