Since the Day We Danced by Kerk Murray
3.0
lighthearted relaxing medium-paced

I got this as part of a Storygraph giveaway and I'd like to thank the author for that.
Now onto the book... It was very reminiscent of 90s novels, which was good in some ways, and not so great in others. For one, I appreciate that we didn't get any of those formulaic sex scenes while still getting the romance part across. The downsides were that it didn't have very good representation (I am still hollering at the Italian? Mexican? restaurant) and the characters feeling a bit cardboard-y, like they were just there to push Emma's story forward. Dialogues are a bit clunky and the pacing is very "nothing happens" in the first 2/3, then A Lot happens in the last part.
Overall both main characters are a bit boring for my taste, and the narrator is quick to dismiss any flaws that they have.
For what I needed it works though. A quick, relaxing read to switch off for a bit. I don't think I will rush to read the rest of the series, but maybe if I were to take a long flight or have a hospital stay I might pick them up.
