What I love about a Mariana Zapata book is that somehow, you're so drawn into the book and the story, that you forget MZ is the Queen of Slow Burn and suddenly you're 82% through the book realizing you're getting your first kiss or spicy scene. What?! I love it.
I enjoyed the growth of the characters, I was head over heels for the relationship building, not just between Aurora and Rhodes, but Aurora and Amos. I loved Aurora and Amos' friendship so much. Maybe it stems from being a "step kid" myself, but I felt like we got two relationships with this story and both were super important.
