This book was AMAZING. But then it got confusing. It was....ahhh. I wanted to love it so much but there were some pieces of it that were just a bit confusing or not as great as the rest of the book.
First of all, the characters. I never developed that attachment that I want to have with a character and I feel like I missed that. Neve seemed all over the place, and Romer never really explains himself and Dylan...well, where did he even come from? I never had that A-HA moment of "Oh, well now I need to find out what happens to them."
That being said, the plot was phenomenal. I'm (as usual) not going to ruin anything for you in this review, but I was definitely excited to find out where the plot was going. I wasn't expecting it to turn out the way it did, but I'm glad it went there!
There were points that I felt could have been elaborated more. When the climax of the plot (and the theme of the story) is being explained, I felt it was very rushed and didn't give the reader enough time to comprehend what was going on.
I also, as an English major, adore books with unique vocab words, however this book seemed to overuse them. There were moments I really didn't know what was happening because some of the words were quite bizarre - and they were simple things like changing the word "said" to "avers" - a term I had never heard used before.
The plot was so engaging however, it kept me reading and eager to find out what happens next. This book was action packed and full of great scenes.
