*NO SPOILERS* This book made me open my eyes a little wider. You should read it.

Margaret Atwood's world building is scarily believable and pertinent to the times of today. With the perpetuated divisiveness of the current American government and the American people, I found myself horrified by every page and how plausible it could be. Atwood left no stone unturned in how the USA became Gilead, slowly at first and then all at once.

Narrative voice is consistent and believable, langauge is descriptive, plot is straightforward, content is timely.

The Handmaid's Tale is outrageous in no small way. Hopefully it remains as a work of fiction and not an eerie prophecy.
