This was a great fantasy inspired by an old tale. I really loved the different worlds that the author was able to build into this story. It really takes you back and makes you feel like you are living in a different time. The lines between reality and legend get crossed in a way that makes you believe this could have actually happened. I wish there was more detail about the Staryk King and his world. It would be so interesting to be caught in a world of ice and snow. I am really looking forward to reading more from Novik.
