An absolutely stunning, high fantasy book! Booktok did a good job recommending this one - it’s sapphic, full of powerful, morally grey women, and set in a lush, South Asian world that we rarely experienced in fantasy.
The way Tasha wrote her women characters is beautiful. I loved Priya, Malini, and Bhumika so much! All of them have such strength and complexity that is compelling.
It took a bit to get into, as we have several POVs to jump between and the book dives right in with few explanations. However once you get a good footing in the world it goes fast and I couldn’t put it down! Well worth the initial struggle to understand what works we’ve been placed in.
