This book was very mid for me.
While the premise is great (I’m all about YA thrillers) I had a hard time because I felt like I wasn’t on the journey with the main character. She kept gaslighting herself into excusing mysterious behavior for 75% of the book!!! It was probably meant to be a slow-burn, but I just found it slow and annoying. Going into this book, I knew creepy things were going to happen. And it’s written in a way that a reader with any lick of sense would know what’s going on. So I mainly wanted to smack the main character and was annoyed out of my mind.
I did love the representation of mental illness and addiction, though. Overall, I thought it was well written.
