Of Shadow and Moonlight
by Luna Laurier
First of all, thank you Luna for the ARC and it was my honor to be amongst the first ones to read this amazing book.
I have to say, other than Twilight, I haven`t read many books about vampires. But after this one...I will.
The prologue...got me hooked right away! The mystery, the questions...
It was beautifully written and it has artwork throughout the book. Such an amazing touch and it helps the reader to make a deeper connection with the characters. This shows how much of the author's time and attention to detail went into making this book.
The first chapter of the book started shooting straight to the heart. It was so well written, and regarding the heaviness of the topic of the chapter, with just a few carefully selected words a lot was said. In some life situations, we don`t need a lot of words to understand the pain and the hurt that someone is going through. It felt like when someone looks at you and with only one look you already know what they are feeling, just like that.
The fact that it all happens in our world makes it so much easier to connect to the story. Our world infused with vampires, monsters, greek mythology, magic, and all that seasoned with just the right amount of spice :) It starts in the present time but the story goes so much deeper.
With such a nice start to the book, I was worried that some parts of the story would be forgotten in the latter chapters (as some authors tend to do) but they didn`t! :) Every detail was addressed throughout the whole story. Every part from beginning to end was woven beautifully.
Cass and Damien ... love can last forever! That is all I will say :) Love them!
As for the side characters I wish we had a bit deeper background story for them, I kinda missed them at some parts of the book, but in the end they pulled through :)
Looking forward for book #2!
