Read for Kid Book Club: Book with a One-Word Title.
I've read a few of Raina Telgemeier's books before, and they never disappoint me! It's honestly amazing how the author can portray complex relationships, feelings, and themes in a graphic novel for middle-grade readers.
I particularly loved Cat and related to her, seeing as I'm also a big sister who felt the need to protect younger siblings. Maya is just a ball of positive energy and so loveable.
I loved following along with Cat's feelings of loneliness, guilt, and sadness, and ultimately finding her way to acceptance and love at the end.
