Take a Hint, Dani Brown
by Talia Hibbert
I read the first book in this series a few months ago and this one pretty much measured up: cute (and racy) love story that I enjoyed reading enough to read the next in the seires when it comes out but likely not enough to read them all again. In this book, second sister Dani has just left a relationship where her (she thought) friends with benefit lady stated falling for her. Since Dani doesn't do feelings or real relationships anymore, she prays to her goddess statue to for a new FWB situation. When her friendly acquaintance Zaf, the security guard at the university where she teaches, rescues her from an elevator, carries her out bridal style, and is caught on video/goes viral, she takes it as a sign. Then Zaf, who isn't into her type of situationship and thinks he could fall for her but sees the good publicity for the charity he runs, asks her to fake date him for a while to keep getting good attention from the media/donors. Will Dani catch feelings? Will Zaf have his heart broken? Both?
Frik, this may be one of my favorite books (the entire series, really, but this one especially). Chloe's book holds special meaning because of the fibro rep but Dani and Zaf are perfect. This book is funny, witty, lovely. Fake dating is the superior trope and is done so well here. Zaf is the best MMC... anxiety rep with genuine work being done, caring, HOT, etc. Dani is such a great mix of genuinely confident in who she is mixed with insecurities. And together? Damn. I just love this book so much every single time I read it!
