"Feeney lives up to her reputation as the 'queen of the twist.'" - Real Simple ... this blurb is embarrassing because she certainly did not live up to it her reputation. 

If this was my first Alice Feeney, I certainly wouldn't pick up another one.

 This one was so boring. More of a domestic drama than a thriller as it is described, the plot is jumbled with multiple points of view that are so similar that I think it resulted in it becoming repetitive. 

We follow Clio, Patience, Edith, and Frankie and slowly the plot kind of weaves itself together. While their stories come together, we also have Jude who seems to just be there to be the gay family member that annoyed everyone which...the motive with her writing him that way is questionable. Additionally, his entire storyline did not make sense. It was so abrupt. 

Ultimately, the 'queen of the twist' failed here because you could see the twists from the start. If you can read between the lines, you can see the twists coming. 

I think the publishing a book every year is starting to affect Feeney's plot (and twist) quality. Maybe it's time for a break between publishing.
