This was a strange book. I love fantasy and I love romance, but I’m afraid this isn’t a great mix here.
The story is too flowery. Instead of things being allowed to let be, they’re overly explained and I feel the world building is a little weak.
I also feel like so much of the story is told to us, not shown resulting in a sort of juvenile feel.
I admire Jamie for taking on a new genre, but I’m not really feeling it. I hope the full length story will be better!
