The Extraordinaries
by TJ Klune
this book is hysterical and heartwarming. tj klune has a way of writing that makes you feel like your reading the writing of your best friend, where you can hear their voice and just laugh at the almost inside jokes that you don’t have to be “inside” to get. it truly felt like he was writing right to me, personally, the way i felt the humor and the love that was so clearly put into this book.
i’m not big on superheroes or fantasy but this book pulled me in quick. the comic wit and the depth of the characters made for a perfect read outside of my preferred genre. it was silly, it was heart wrenching, it was awesome.
one of my favorite things that klune is so good at is the chosen family skill. these characters all come together to become a family that they would do anything for. it’s honestly beautiful.
the one problem i had was that i loved all the police.
