Should have left this one as a DNF unfortunately…I got 60% through this before I started skimming (I had to get to the spice, ya know?). These characters had absolutely no chemistry, and nothing about them was compelling to me. This book features a plethora of hard triggers, and when the book reveals why all these characters went through this fucked up shit, I just didn’t feel like me forcing myself to read through the literal rape and child molestation was worth it. Idk just wasn’t for me.

I think one of my points in my OG review still stands. Keri Lake has some really stunning atmospheric writing and I would really like to try more from her.
