scripturient 's review for:
At Bertram's Hotel
by Agatha Christie
mysterious
medium-paced
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
Complicated
Diverse cast of characters:
Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
The setting is really well done, the hotel really comes alive while reading, but the plot is kind of meh. I have that problem with a lot of Christie's stories, they just don't grip me as much as I'd like them to. Still, I think Miss Marple is an amazing character and I will definitely read more of these novels in the future.
Moderate: Death, Gun violence
Minor: Alcoholism, Dementia, Car accident
