Norwegian Wood
by Haruki Murakami
I’ve never read a book so depressing, but god was this beautiful. The characters and the world feel incredibly real and I loved how realistic the portrayal of mental health in this book was.
Death is all around us, in fact it’s pretty inevitable. We are all going to die in the end. But this novel does such a great job at describing the effects death can have on a lot person. This book was a story on love, loss, depression, sex and characters being so unapologetically themselves.
Toru goes through a fucking tsunami of shit in this book, yet he still continues to live, he chooses to not give up and I got to respect him for that. I really do wonder what happens to toru and Midori tho?
