Definitely a big recovery for me from The Lost Symbol, which I did not as much enjoy. Something I have wondered about reading the last few Langdon books is how Robert never once thinks to himself, hmm, why do all these life or death time running out intense situations happening to just me? Or maybe we're supposed to treat them all completely stand alone and Langdon is just a convenient character to write about.

Anyway, I did very much enjoy this book. I have missed reading even brief Italian phrases, and I enjoyed all of my flashbacks to Florence and Venice that the book prompted.

As for the ending, I'm not sure how I feel about it! It was odd for a Dan Brown book to not end with Langdon saving the day in some dramatic way. I was intrigued by the fact that despite all of his symbol searching and last minute hunting the virus had been already out in the world for multiple days. Sooooo, what was the point I guess? Hmm, just interesting. Excited to see the movie!
