Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
5.0

I'm still trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered heart after finishing Iron Flame. Rebecca Yarros, how could you do this to me?! I thought I was prepared for the emotional rollercoaster but boy, was I wrong.

Violet and Xaden... _sigh_... their romance is still giving me all the feels.

What really gets me is the way Yarros tackles the tough topics. The themes of power, loyalty, and survival are woven throughout the narrative, making for a thought-provoking and emotionally charged read.

I'm not gonna lie, I ugly-cried my way through this book. Like, multiple times. And I'm still reeling from the aftermath. But you know what? It was worth it. Every tear, every scream of frustration, every moment of heartbreak was worth it.

If you're looking for a book that will leave you an emotional wreck, then Iron Flame is the book for you. Just make sure you have a box of tissues handy, because trust me, you're gonna need it.

Trigger Warnings:
Graphic descriptions of violence, torture, and abuse. Reader discretion is advised.

Favorite Quotes:

-“Scratch her eyes out,” Andarna suggests. “Really. The eyes are the softest tissue. Just jab your thumbs in there—” “Andarna! Use some common sense,” Tairn snaps. “The kneecaps are a much easier target.”

-“You want to know something true? Something real? I love you. I’m in love with you. I have been since the night the snow fell in your hair and you kissed me for the first time. I’m grateful my life is tied to yours because it means I won’t have to face a day without you in it. My heart only beats as long as yours does, and when you die, I’ll meet Malek at your side. It’s a damned good thing that you love me, too, because you’re stuck with me in this life and every other that could possibly follow.”
