Wayward

emotional

this book was really like 'hey what if we took the most annoying aspects of these two men and tripled down on them, compounding on the most frustrating ordeal of their relationship so far and didnt give a satisfying resolve?' and i, for one, am one step away from screaming my head off. you have no idea.
like literally. what the FUCK. how many times can they rehash the same issues, get over them, seem to improve, only to then backtrack and get worse. it makes no sense!!! it makes no fucking sense!!! i was so close to pulling my hair out during this book because oh. my god. i want to grab these men by the shoulders and shake some sense into them, literally. hazards doubt in their relationship felt like the easy way to justify his anger (which was already fairly justified tbh) and somers entire breakdown just felt so...idk...misplaced? or...maybe not misplaced, but it felt a little off. idk if it just happened a little fast or if it didnt seem like there was enough fire behind it, but its bugged me the whole time.
the scene where he has sex with hazard after their fight and says 'who owns you' was so ??? to me like...it just felt wrong?? not really bad but it was definitely not what i was expecting. it felt out of character in a forced way and it make me uncomfortable :/
overall i just feel like this book redid a lot of the same issues and i get it, i do; certain things led up to the events in this book that needed to come out and be dealt with, but the ways that they were dealt with just felt very surface. i feel like hazard and somers need to have a good, honest discussion about things, but since they wont do that they need to have an all out screaming match where everything comes out and its all on the table once and for all, and then they need to deal with it by talking bc if they keep doing this im actually going to end up going insane. oh my god
the writing is good tho which is why it gets such a high rating for me <3 i really enjoy the way the author explores different aspects of the characters and their relationship, and while its vvv frustrating at times i do like seeing how he works things out
