I thought this was quite fun. Fairly bold to open with a court trial that sums up what is going on with the judge talking to the jury. Though the instalove aspect was pretty cringe, the meat of the story elides that for the components of the mystery, which was pretty fun, as was the setting. I admit a weakness for seance scenes. The final third, or so, of the book wraps up satisfying and quickly. The actual final page follows the beginning, and is probably a product of it’s time.
