This is a pretty typical christmas story of someone trying to get to a loved one, and obstacles being put in their path.  In a way this reminds me of the Hobbit.  That solo journey when Bilbo escaped and found the end with a bit of brains and a lot of luck.  Well, it’s the same plot, just not as many orks and no golem.  Overall the story is nice, but it’s long winded.  I think this would be better as a spoken word tale rather than a written one.
