» PLOT «
Following the suspicious death of her cousin, Elatsoe makes it her mission to figure out what truly happened. With her gift of raising the ghost of dead animals, she discovers the secrets of her family, her cousin's death, and the picture-perfect town of Willowbee.

For a mystery book, the central mystery really isn't a mystery. The plot twist of the book was barely adjacent to the main story. It felt random and poorly developed/addressed.

» READABILITY «
This isn't a hard read, there just wasn't much pulling me through this book.

» CHARACTERS «
I wasn't really invested in the characters or their relationships. There was only a singular moment where we got more information regarding the relationship between two characters, but other than that, everything was very mediocre.

» WRITING «
The writing wasn't bad, just not captivating.

» OVERALL «
I knew I wouldn't love this book, but I hoped it would change my mind. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
