I am landing on 4.5 stars, on one hand it's a beautifully crafted story about a boy discovering who he is, and why love one is important. On the other hand, there is just too many things going on and they happen way to fast to really bring emphasis to it. Also, the MC acts a little too old for his actual age at several points in the novel.

A few to list: homophobia, school shootings, fat camp, and even a few more.

The romance is sweet and the main character super loveable, would recommend to sixth graders probably. Thats the grade the book ends in.
