I didn't know what to think of this story at first. Basically, a young, Bajan writer helps pen the biography for a seemingly cantankerous woman. But beyond that, is Barbadian history, warmth, wisdom, and a little mystery (though Lia is a bit dull when compared to the other cast if characters). The pacing isn't bad, but you have to eat your vegetables to get to the good stuff.
