While I am not religious by any means, I am a fan of Buddhism because of how it embraces science and fact. Dr. Goleman has an amazing conversation with his holiness and what unfolds is heaven. Consider this book another bridge from the science of the brain that is known, and human psychology, and Buddhism flows gently and delicately, like a meandering stream, allowing the influx of proven fact to work its way into a religion which already feeds well to therapy. Aside from the very beneficial therapeutic uses for this book, you also get to see the continued understanding that the Dalai Lama invites from the science community, in contrast to counterparts in western religion who are very rigid in their beliefs and continue to dispute proven scientific facts in a multitude of areas.
