Why does this book have so many good reviews? Daphne literally rapes Simon when he is drunk and half-asleep! And she never apologizes for it or even acknowledges that she did something wrong!
Here are some quotes from the rape scene:
- "He was in her control, she realized. He was asleep, and probably still more than a little drunk, and she could do whatever she wanted with him. She could have whatever she wanted."
- "'Did what?' Daphne cried, pulling a sheet around her. 'Simon, stop this. What did I do that was so wrong? You wanted me. You know you wanted me.'"
- "She wasn't ashamed of her actions. She supposed she should be, but she wasn't."
I can't believe that some people think this is acceptable!
Plus, the author seems to be very problematic, too (https://twitter.com/SashaDevlin/status/1341378936127823873).
