This book was horrifyingly fantastic, and the audiobook brought it to life perfectly! I honestly couldn’t love a horror story more. It was well worth the wait.

I especially loved how Jess stepped up for a child she didn’t even know, fiercely protective even as the chaos escalated around them. The whole experience gave me strong Grotesquerie meets Castle Rock vibes, with haunting monsters and constant chaotic tension. Every time I thought Jess and the kid might finally catch a break, another nightmare would hit and they were thrust back into fight or flight mode.

Absolutely a standout read of the year for me! 5 stars, without question.
