A Princess who wants to claim her empire. A whore/assassin who hears a voice in her head who takes on a job to get a mans head. A captain who is exiled with his warriors who are to fight a war or die. These three will be fighting a war between two empires.
I really enjoyed the politics and action in this book. I loved Miko and Cassandra a lot. I was not a fan of reading Rah’s chapters. This book is marketed to be a fantasy book, but there is no magic, just empires. That’s okay though. I do wish we would know more about Dom and Cassandra and why they are the way they are. Hopefully book two clears things up.
