Maniscalco wrote an excellent follow-up to the first book in this series. She manages to recreate the magic found in Stalking Jack the Ripper. Audrey Rose grows as a character, and Thomas Cresswell is far more likable in this book than in the first novel! Audrey and Thomas head to Romania to attend a forensic school, where they are met with a thrilling mystery surrounding Dracula. The mystery was exciting and hard to crack. I like that while Audrey Rose and Thomas have good deduction skills and are skilled in forensic, they are fallible and make mistakes throughout the cases, making the mystery hard to solve. The relationship between the two main characters also grows with each book developing off the last rather than a stagnant relationship. Overall, I give the book 4 stars and can't wait to read the next one in the series!
