Dracula by Bram Stoker
4.0

My mother made me watch the film remake this, which I found atrocious. They added in romance between Mina and the Count for no apparent reason, just because they wanted it to appeal to the public. The book, on the other hand, is marvellous. I must admit the beginning it awfully slow and it did take me 2 months to read this, however towards the end was gripping.
I personally like how they put the format in diary entries, giving the point of view of each character. I currently own 3 'classics' and Dracula is by far my favourite. The plot gradually became more and more action filled, building up to the ending (in my opinion was rather anti-climax).
The type of language is easy to understand, although I did find it difficult reading the long monologues by Van Hellsing late at night.
Overall a wonderful classic which everyone should enjoy.
