I truly expected this book to be nothing I really liked… a 3/4 star if I was lucky. The synopsis did nothing to draw me in. However several booktubers kept recommending it and as I have similar taste in some other reads… I decided to take a shot at it when there was a skip the hold line copy available at my library. I’m so glad I did!

It was refreshing, intriguing, and a page turner. The point was not heavy handed but was clear and poignant. I really loved the simplicity of the plot, the characterization, and the way it was written. I might try to find more by this author to read as the writing style really stood out to me.
