As a psychological thriller, this book is pretty good. But, as a novel, it was atrocious. To make up for this contradiction, I have decided to give it three stars - meaning it was so-so. I don't regret my decision to read Larbalestier's work and would even be open to trying her writing again sometime in the future, but the plot for this one was so boring until the last third of the novel. Her character progressions were passable at best and Che, our protagonist, was likable, but not likable enough to applaud Larbalestier on this area of her writing. For those of you who enjoy a slower paced psychological thriller, this one is for you. But for those who are more like me and enjoy a faster paced thriller, I do not recommend.
