I really really liked this. This felt like an old Brother’s Grimm fairytale, and it was so spellbinding and enchanting. The writing was so beautiful and lush, and these characters were very well written. The magic system was so unique and interesting. I’m really excited to read more from Novik. Not 5 stars because pages 200-300 are quite a bore, but this was really really good overall. (Also is this a Beauty and the Beast retelling because it felt like it was?)
