emilyreads88 's review for:
The House in the Cerulean Sea
by TJ Klune
This book is very much like its main character: extraordinarily wonderful. "Oh, my dear Mr. Baker. I do truly marvel at you."
I've been recommended this book many times, but it took me until now to read it. I was absolutely charmed. There are so many important lessons to be learned in this book, but beyond that it was just absolutely, stunningly, beautiful. It perfectly showcases acceptance, and love in all of its forms. There is injustice and bigotry, but the characters live through and beyond it.
And can we talk about this absolute masterpiece of a scene? " 'There, there,' Linus said quietly. 'That's quite enough of that, I think. You've made your point quite well.' " It gave me major ACOWAR vibes ("You've made your point, my love.").
I'll end with the first quote I highlighted in the book. "There's music everywhere, Mr. Baker. You just have to learn to listen for it."
