Sinner by Sierra Simone

Narration: 5 Stars

You said belief was giving my heart and trusting that understanding would come later. And I realized at some point I'd already given my heart without understanding - to you, Zenny.

Well, it's official - Sierra Simone has me in a chokehold.

Out of all the books in the series thus far, Sinner is easily my favorite - this was way deeper & more poignant than I anticipated it would be going in, please check the trigger warnings & don't skip the author's note at the end. I related so much to Sean's beliefs & feelings about God & religion, the way Simone dealt with his character really had me sitting back & thinking about my own faith. & I think that's what really elevates this series as a whole for me - yes, it's steamy (Simone writes some of the best steam I've ever read, period), but her writing is truly phenomenal & she isn't afraid to challenge & discuss religion without ever being disrespectful to those who do hold strong beliefs. Sean & Zenny's journey together was beautiful, the last hour of the audiobook had me crying my eyes out & so in my feelings (shoutout to our incredible narrators - Jacob Morgan, you continue to impress me). I loved how we got to see more glimpses of Aiden &, semi-spoiler alert, got a little peek into his relationship with Elijah. & the Reverend Mother - what a gem, I adored her so much!

I'm fully invested & all in to see what else is in store for the Bell family, & I am so, so ready for Aiden & Elijah & Saint.
