Ocean's Blood by Thelma Mantey

Plot or Character Driven: Character

This book is the peak of a messy slow burn, with how Vindt's character is beautifully written throughout the story. His dilemma about all the things he does and how it shapes his actions is definitely my favourite part of the story. I honestly couldn't help but love how complicated his relationship with Asche (and not only him but others as well) got as the story progressed - dark, bloody, complex and the opposite of healthy, for me it was fantastic to read a book with such dynamic.
I also liked the worldbuilding, it was rich and unique with its magic system and histories presented in the book.
The pacing was nice too, I struggled sometimes to get into the story, but overall I liked the book and would recommend it.
