I found this novella to be a huge improvement over the last, even if it felt a little more rushed. D’Arque turned it out as a romantic lead, and we already knew we loved Sarah St John. I felt like thematically this was similar to Asa & Eve’s story in the rake/virgin scope with a dose of previous SA, but it didn’t feel like a retread. It did feel like Christmas really had nothing to do with anything (like Die Hard is more Christmassy than this), and the plot with d’Arque’s sick grandmother just… disappeared? But the fairytale of Prince Brad and the frog boosted this an extra half-star.
