Murder at Half Moon Gate by Andrea Penrose
5.0
adventurous hopeful mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes

Adventure. Intrigue. Murder. Delightfully complex characters at the heart and seams. A stimulating setting that bounces between privilege and poverty. All strung together by a well-paced plot, timely clues, and the unfolding glimmer of a promised romance. The key to what makes this second in the series another hit (and I dare say a star more engaging than the first) is again its tantalising pace. Just pace perfect.

We’re left satisfied with the climactic finale and yet, we’re still salivating over the wafting scents of remaining secrets that linger on the fringes…
